Naturales del Sierro

Naturales del Sierro is a regenerative livestock farm located in the Sierra Norte of Seville, Andalusia, Spain, spanning approximately 400 hectares of Mediterranean landscape. The regenerative transition began in 2019 in response to declining soil fertility, reduced pasture diversity, and increasing climate stress.

Over four years, the farm implemented a holistic regenerative management approach focused on restoring soil health, native pastures, and overall ecosystem function. Key practices included planned rotational grazing, adaptive stocking rates, and extended recovery periods to improve ground cover, root development, and nutrient cycling.

In parallel, biodiversity was enhanced through the protection and successive seeding of field margins, as well as the installation of biodiversity infrastructure for pollinators, birds, bats, and amphibians. These actions were combined with improved water management to increase infiltration, reduce erosion, and establish full, permanent soil cover.

As a result, soils showed improved structure and biological activity, pastures became more diverse and resilient, and reliance on external inputs decreased. The farm evolved into a more climate-resilient and economically stable system, demonstrating how regenerative practices can restore ecosystems while strengthening long-term farm viability under Mediterranean conditions.
